All workouts are created equal…or are they?

It really depends on how you look at it. On the one hand, you’re getting out there! You’re doing it! You’re moving and pushing and sweating it out. At the same time, however, what are you trying to get out of a workout? Are you working out for you? Are you trying to tone up? Are you trying to get stronger? Get bigger muscles? Burn fat? When you break it down you will see that, yes, all workouts are the same in that they get you going but they are not the same in that you really need to know what is going on within your body to know what the right approach is for you. So many times I see people who think they are really doing right by their workout but, honestly, they aren’t really doing as much as they think they are. I don’t say that to make anyone feel any less but I say it to point out that while it may seem that working out is just some go into the gym and do whatever you want (after all you’re burning calories, right?) to get the results that you want, it is so much more. I am not saying you need a trainer, I’m just saying do your own research and reading so that you know where to start. Maybe a trainer will be beneficial for you for the encouragement and the accountability but be sure you get a good trainer because many out there are just full of smoke. They think they know it all but they are just in it to make money. I would hate to see anyone get taken advantage of.

I do want to put out there a book that I personally love! It is called Thinner, Leaner, Stronger by Michael Matthews and he does a great job and just breaking it all down to the basics. It is an easy read and packed full of useful knowledge and tips. Definitely worth the money and time!!

All of that being said, I’m proud of you! You’re getting out there and doing something for YOU!! You’re make YOU better for YOU! And for that you should be commended every chance you get. 🙂
